In this workshop, we will explore both wet-on-dry and wet-on-wet techniques and practice layering and blending. Wet-on-dry painting is essential to create a layered painting with lots of depth. Wet-on-wet painting produces the much-loved spontaneous color effects that watercolor is known for.
After a relaxing warm-up exercise, Sophie will guide the class in painting leaves - the perfect subject to practice our new skills. Through careful observation we will capture the details of our natural subjects. By the end of the workshop, everyone will have a thorough understanding of watercolor and have completed a lovely painting of garden leaves!I
